He Lives, and So Will We by Joe Barnett

Christ has indeed been raised from the dead.  1 Cor. 15:20

If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.  And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith…And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.  Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.  If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.  For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also comes through a man.   For as in Adam, all die, so in Christ, all will be made alive (1st Cor.15:13 &14, 17-22).

Christ’s resurrection – and his promise of ours – makes everything okay.

Our Sympathy!

Jim Withers passed away on Monday, June 17, following admission to UTMB.  Services were held in Fort Worth on Friday. Jim spent over forty years of his life in Fort Worth.

Jim was an active member of the North Richland Hills Church of Christ.  He was responsible for beginning their singles class that was very large in number.

We will miss Jim’s wit and his sitting on the chair at the back of the auditorium!

Special Luncheon!

The luncheon for seniors was held last Monday at Dean Knox’s house.  It was attended by Armando Cardenas, Sara Campbell, Sandra Moeller, Amy Davis, Suzanne Druss and her nephew Paul, Jan Thomas, Judy Schneider, and Joan Mertens.  A good time was had by all!

There is freedom in forgiveness.

Allen and Mikey Isbell are in Houston this weekend where Allen is doing the honors for a sixtieth anniversary.  He is performing a renewal of the vows for Mike and Cynthia Richards.  Mike and Allen were classmates at Abilene Christian College.  Allen performed their wedding sixty years ago! Some of you may know of Mike, as he was a state senator and had a radio program in Houston.

We received a report from Mariana Long.  It will be available for you next Sunday.
