Your Prayer Will Be Answered by Joe Barnett

Your prayer has been heard. – Luke 1:13

“Your prayer has been heard,” said the angel. What prayer? Zechariah had to be reminded: “Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son.” He hadn’t prayed for a son since he and Elizabeth were newlyweds. Now they were old.

God had heard his long-ago prayer—and been waiting for the right time to answer it. The answer would bring present joy to the parents and future joy to many (Luke 1:14,17).

You may have forgotten something you prayed for—considered it unanswered. But God hasn’t forgotten. Keep your eyes open and your heart alert—your Father knows the right time and right way to answer.
Delayed doesn’t mean denied.

Annual Missions Sunday
December 15, 2019 A special Missions collection will be taken on December 15, 2019. The funds will be distributed to five mission efforts.
1. Solar Ministry from Sunset International Bible Institute. SIBI will distribute Solar-powered players to people who live where electricity is not available. The players are in the native language of people in Africa, South America, and the Phillippines. Each solar-powered player includes the complete Bible, Bible studies and songs of the church.
2 Miguel and Hope Zuniga. Our relationship with the Zunigas dates from Hurricane Ike. Broadway has supported their work in Laredo, Texas, and now in the San Angelo, Texas area.
3. Mariana Long. She is with us this Sunday to report on her mission trips to several nations. She has been involved in missions since 1960. We have shared in her work for many years. We will support her mission activities outside the United States, especially in Northern Ireland.
4. Gospel Chariot Missions. When George and Ria were baptized in South Africa in 1994, they started evangelizing Africa. Over 18,000 people have been baptized and over 300 congregations established in Africa through this ministry. In August of this year, there were 160 baptisms in Malawi. Dr. Mark Martin, former member/leader at Broadway while attending UTMB, introduced Broadway to this ministry two years ago.
5. Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund. This ministry responds to help churches of Christ who suffer natural disasters, such as hurricanes, fires, floods, and tornados. When Broadway’s building suffered extreme damage in Hurricane Ike, they brought in 18-wheelers full of household necessities worth more than $80,000. This is our second year to include this vital ministry in our collect

Please give generously to this special Missions Collection in addition to your regular weekly contribution.
