You Will Be Remembered for Something by Joe Barnett
Though John never performed a miraculous sign,
all that John said about this man was true. John 10:41 John the Baptist had been dead for two years, but his influence was alive and well.
He wasn’t remembered for his miracles, for he performed none; but he was remembered for his words. His passion was to introduce Jesus to the world and the world to Jesus.
You gratefully remember someone who profoundly influenced you, don’t you: a parent, or teacher, or friend? That person may have been gone for years, forgotten by most; but not by you, because by word and life that was the person who introduced you to Jesus.
Someone, somewhere, will remember you for something. What do you wish to be remembered for? What will you be remembered for?
Life doesn’t last long, but influence does.

As you can see on the carts in the auditorium, the coat drive is proving to be very successful. Possibly better than last year.
We have collected, not only coats for small children, but also for adults. Spring Branch Church of Christ is equipped to handle all these donations; they have a special building for clothing. They serve their neighborhood well. We will give a final update in next week’s bulletin.
NOTE: After today we will no longer accept coats; they will be taken to Houston early this week, as the distribution is next Saturday.
Mark Your Calendar!

Allen was surprised last Sunday when his former law partner, Rick Brass, walked into the building. Rick sustained a serious back injury and had been using a wheelchair. Allen did not know that he had progressed to the walking stage. A very good surprise and a nice visit.
It was good to have Linda Stevens in Wednesday night service; she is back in town for several days.
Chris Garvin is staying after work on Wednesdays to help with food distribution at Impact Church of Christ. A wonderful Christian work. Jim Deloney appreciates this volunteer.
Sara Campbell is in Branson, MO, to attend Harding University’s seminar on Abundant Living for Seniors.
