It’s All About Attitude by Joe Barnett

As iron sharpens iron, so people can improve each other.

(Proverbs 27:17)

From the mid-thirties to the early sixties, a passel of success-related books came to market.  To name a few: How to Win Friends and Influence People (1936); Think and Grow Rich (1937); The Power of Positive Thinking (1952); The Magic of Thinking Big (1959); Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude (1960); Psycho-Cybernetics (1960).

All were focused on attitude, affirming that those who cultivate a positive attitude live happy and productive lives. They’re excited about life, grab hold of opportunities that come their way, concentrate on what’s good, and refuse to wallow in negative mud.

Some – especially academics – considered the genre shallow and trite.  But no one can deny the enormous audience it pulled and the positive influence it generated.

I would vigorously applaud a reemergence of a positive attitude.

Start today with a positive attitude and grateful heart.

For Those Who Have Keys to the Broadway Building!

On two separate occasions this past week, the building alarm has been set off.  Both times, it was the east hall, a side door that was the culprit.  The door can be unlocked from the outside but must also be locked on the outside. The alarm can be set if doors are closed; it cannot detect locked or unlocked doors!  Therefore, if alarm is set and the door is unlocked, a simple opening of the door trips the alarm.  Two times in one week!!!

Please, please lock the three back doors if you unlock them.

We Need Your Help!

If you have borrowed folding tables or chairs from Broadway, there is a need for them.  Please check your closets and garages, and return them by September 22.  It is easy to forget to return them, so please look and bring back.

“No questions asked!”      Thanks!
