At the End of the Day by Joe Barnett

I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. John 17:4

Crossing off the last item on your to do list at the end of a busy day is a “whew” moment.
In the last full day of his life, Jesus checked all the boxes and said to his Father, “I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.”

Columnist Erma Bombeck said: “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I could say, ‘I used everything that you gave me.’”
“They left everything on the field” is a sports metaphor for they gave it all they had.
Leave it all on the field. Use everything God gives you. Glorify him by reaching the end of a busy life having completed the work he gave you to do.

Every talent comes with responsibility;
every opportunity with obligation.

A Special Weekend!

This is a big weekend for the Knox Family! John and wife Vicky, and Joey and wife Rachel are visiting to celebrate Dean’s 93rd birthday.

If you are not aware, Dean is a living history book. He was born during Prohibition, raised during the Depression.
One of his earlier memories, includes his mother feeding the hobos on their front steps.

Dean served in World War II, seeing action in Okinawa and witnessed the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay from the top mast of the U.S.S. Ancon.

In the mid 70’s he served 3 terms as Mayor of Spring Valley, TX.
He and his wife Meanie (deceased) spent their last years together as faithful members of Broadway. We love you DEAN.

Happy 93rd Birthday!
